ArenaNet Unveils Guardian Profession for Guild Wars 2

ArenaNet has finally announced the fifth profession for its highly anticipated MMORPG Guild Wars 2.

Introducing the Guardian:

"The guardian is a devoted fighter who calls upon powerful virtues to smite enemies and protect allies. As dangerous with a staff as he is with a mighty two-handed hammer, a true guardian is a master tactician who knows when to sacrifice his own defenses to empower his allies to achieve victory." While the four previously revealed professions - Elementalist, Warrior, Ranger and Necromancer - were from the original Guild Wars game, Guardian is brand new. Though, after reading up a bit on it, the Guardian sounds a little like the Monk profession from Guild Wars. I've never played the original game so I can't be sure.

There are a total of eight professions in GW2, so that leaves three more yet to be revealed.
